I was diagnosed with anxiety and panic disorder almost a decade ago. I have tried everything medically, both Eastern and Western, to help to manage the symptoms. Some things help and some things don’t. I feel like I am always searching for relief.
About a year ago I was at my annual visit with my primary care physician when she asked the routine questions related to my anxiety. I told her that I thought I had reached a ceiling, so to speak, and was just maintaining. Things had not gotten worse but they weren’t any better either. We talked about medication but my experience with this particular type of medication in the past is that it did not help and, in fact, sometimes made it worse. She then asked if I had ever tried acupuncture. Of all of the things that I tried, acupuncture was not one of them. So I decided to give it a chance. That is when I met Heather.
My immediate impression was that she was kind and gentle and she made me feel completely at ease with the process. The intake was thorough, which is unique in this day and age of medicine. I felt like she really took the time to listen to me and then geared my treatment towards my most pressing issues.
It’s been over a year now. These treatments have helped me more than I could ever have imagined. I leave her office feeling refreshed and energetic and happy. She has successfully treated me for anxiety, insomnia and TMJ and at this point, it’s almost as if my body knows when it’s time to go back for a treatment. Of all of the remedies that I have tried, all of the healing paths that I have taken, this is one of the most enjoyable and successful so far.
I have recently moved from NJ but I still come back to Heather for my treatments. If acupuncture is something that you’ve been thinking about trying, you have found the right place to begin!
