Who We Are
Dr. Heather Shultz D.Ac. L.Ac. Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM)
is a nationally board certified (NCCAOM) and state licensed acupuncturist specializing in the treatment of pain, oncology support and fertility support.
She graduated from the Won Institute of Graduate studies with a Masters of Acupuncture in 2010 and the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine with her Doctorate of Acupuncture in 2018. She has completed postgraduate studies in pain management and oncology acupuncture including a certificate from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Heather grew up in central Pennsylvania and moved to Philadelphia to attend college. After graduating from Drexel University with her bachelors in Biomedical science, she worked for the Red Cross. She spent many years working with both doctors and donors and is grateful for the opportunity to have witnessed the lifesaving power of western medicine.
As a teenager Heather watched a close family member deal with an autoimmune condition that caused chronic pain and fatigue so severe that they had trouble doing many everyday activities. This family member was referred to an acupuncturist and quickly found relief from many of their symptoms. Having witnessed this amazing recovery and the power of acupuncture to relieve suffering, she wanted to learn more about acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. In 2007 she enrolled in the Master's degree program at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies.
Heather’s mission and purpose is to bring relief to her patients suffering with chronic pain, infertility and to support those in cancer treatment and recovery.
She believes that life is inherently wise and that each person can access that wisdom. Her goal is to remind the body how to heal itself and to help every patient live a life with less (or no) pain and more joy.
Heather loves being outside, hiking, camping and backpacking with her family and rescue pittie. She also finds joy in a regular yoga practice and riding a bicycle.
Heather is adjunct faculty at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies and supervises acupuncture students during their final semesters of training. She is the president of the Association for Professional Acupuncture in Pennsylvania and a member of New Jersey Association for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
