Heather Shultz D.Ac. L.Ac. Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM)

As a teenager Heather watched her mother struggle with an autoimmune condition that caused chronic pain and fatigue so severe that she had trouble working and doing many everyday activities. After a years of searching for a diagnosis and taking medications with unpleasant side effects she decided to try acupuncture. She an quickly found relief from many of her symptoms, was able to cut back on her medications and get back to work. Having witnessed this amazing recovery and the power of acupuncture to relieve suffering, Heather wanted to learn more about acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. In 2007 she enrolled in the Master's degree program at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies..

She graduated from the Won Institute of Graduate studies with a Masters of Acupuncture in 2010 and the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine with her Doctorate of Acupuncture in 2018. She has completed postgraduate studies in pain management and oncology acupuncture including a certificate from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Heather grew up in central Pennsylvania and moved to Philadelphia to attend college. After graduating from Drexel University with her bachelors in Biomedical science, she worked for the Red Cross. She spent many years working with both doctors and donors and is grateful for the opportunity to have witnessed the lifesaving power of western medicine.

Heather’s mission and purpose is to bring relief to her patients suffering with chronic pain, infertility and to support those in cancer treatment and recovery.

She believes that life is inherently wise and that each person can access that wisdom. Her goal is to remind the body how to heal itself and to help every patient live a life with less (or no) pain and more joy.

Heather loves being outside, hiking, camping and backpacking with her family and rescue pittie. She also finds joy in a regular yoga practice and riding a bicycle.

Heather is a nationally board certified (NCCAOM) and state licensed acupuncturist specializing in the treatment of pain, oncology support and fertility support. She is adjunct faculty at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies. She is the president of the Association for Professional Acupuncture in Pennsylvania and a member of New Jersey Association for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Heather is a true professional and treated me for Bell’s palsy. My symptoms began to recede after the 3rd or 4th treatment and was back to 90% by my 6th session which included cupping. I have already recommended her to several of my friends and would to anyone seeking individual attention where conventional treatment falls short.
— Bob G.
I was suffering much pain and having headaches from cervical joint degeneration. I couldn’t sleep through the night. After treatments with Heather, I have been pain free for almost 2 months. Heather is kind, gentle and cared about your symptoms and comfort.
— Annmarie A.
I’ve been one of Heather’s patients for over a year. I continue to be impressed by her professionalism, consistently Caring warm approach, and outstanding knowledge to heal. I am so lucky to have her helping me each week.
— Jyl P.
Heather is a very caring person, very honest and patient centered with the skills to be helpful. Heather always focuses on me and how I feel. She uses this to decide on the best treatment for the day. This is not a cookie cutter approach but one that bases action on the patients aches and pains. She is a very careful listener and asks good thought provoking questions so she can make a difference in how I feel.
— George G.
I began acupuncture therapy with Heather 3 months ago as a result of herniated discs and degenerative discs disease. Heather is very personable, an active listener and extremely skilled in her profession. Previously, I had several steroid epidurals, physical therapy and continued to experience severe lower back pain. However, my pain management doctor suggested I try acupuncture therapy as a means of controlling my pain. Currently, I am happy to say that I am feeling better than I have felt in months and nearly pain free. I would highly recommend Heather to my family and friends.
— Belinda H.
I’ve been going to Heather for acupuncture for over 5 months now. She is excellent! Every appointment starts with us discussing how things have been going health-wise and any concerns/issues/pains I have. She is very patient and gentle when placing the acupuncture needles, and always shows concern for my comfort. I highly recommend Heather Shultz Acupuncture!
